About Us

Katey Aldred RVN, H.N.C CBT FdSc CBT

Katey is the canine behaviourist and trainer at Pooch Paws. Katey has a Higher National Certificate (H.N.C) in Canine Behaviour and Training and a Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Canine Behaviour and Training. Both are nationally recognised qualifications that took a combination of 4 years to achieve via practical’s and theory. Katey works as a Veterinary Nurse dedicating her free time to the training and behaviour of her own and other peoples canine companions.

Katey lives with three Italian Spinone's Chiara, Tino and newest addition, Brook. Chiara is the face of Pooch Paws being one of the success stories. Adopted as a rescue at 6 months old with multiple behaviour problems such as extreme nervousness and protective aggression, hard work, patience, gentle handling and behaviour modification gained a well rounded adult. Chiara was going to be a working gundog but suffers from health issues, so is used as a demonstration dog for students with her speciality being tricks! Tino is the is the second eldest and carries out work during the shooting season in the sport of wildfowling enjoying the occasional rough shoot. Brook is the youngest and is still in training to hopefully start work as a gundog when she is old enough.

Pooch Paws gained its name when it was first established as a broader company offering a number of services which included dog walking, dog sitting, ambulance service as well as training. From these early days valuable knowledge was gained into varying breeds. When Katey relocated from Essex to Norfolk the only part of the business to carry on was the training. At this time Katey had gained the knowledge and qualifications to carry out behaviour programs.

Pooch Paws is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance and so are committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals from veterinarians.

We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service. If you are considering a course with us please visit the location and diary page to ensure you can attend.
